ABOUT THE BOOK
Four months of training and then to war...
Vietnam The Memoir of a Sandlot Soldier is a brief glimpse of the experiences of a generation of young Americans who served their country during the Vietnam War. Conflict and wars have been a major part of our human experience since man first walked the earth. The author’s purpose for sharing these experiences is to remind people what it was like to hunt and be hunted on foreign soil. He writes about trekking through jungles and up mountainsides, gives accounts of battles and everyday courage during dark and rainy monsoon nights and stifling hot days in an unfamiliar place on the opposite side of the world from home. His reflective account is not from the viewpoint of commanding officers but from soldiers in the field doing their best to fight for their country and stay alive.
